Charlotte -- Kids under 8 need about 2 servings of dairy every day including milk, yogurt or cheese. If she is getting enough dairy you don't need to supplement calcium. But your daughter is likely to need vitamin D if you use suncreen and she doesn't drink milk. I just checked Shaklee's website. The Incredivites contain D3 which is supposed to be more absorbable than D2. If she eats a variety of foods she probably doesn't need the multivitamin but there's no harm in giving it. Another option would be to just supplement her with vitamin D by itself.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm actually concerned about both Vitamin D and calcium since my 3 year old daughter refuses to drink milk (even with chocolate powder in it!) Although she eats a lot of yoghurt and some soft cheeses, I'm concerned she's not getting enough calcium. Should I be supplementing?

Do you know anything about Shaklee's "Incredivites" vitamins for kids? They are supposed to contain 600 IU of Vitamin D. Is it worthwhile to use this kind of supplement, even if multi-vitamins are not really necessary?
